Journey to a Healthier Me

Many have never met me or will ever really know my overall health and mental well being.

I am a former gymnast and a former martial artist. I have a lot of injuries which have lead to me gaining weight and being out of shape.

I feel at times that I am out of control and use food as a tool to increase happiness. I love to eat and it’s very hard not to go to the foods that you were used to eating as comfort foods.

I have had two knee surgeries on my right knee as I have torn my meniscus twice. It isn’t pleasant some days even walking on it.

I have forced myself to try and be active and get approximately an hour a day of walking or other form of physical activity.

The past week I have done amazing with my routine. Generally I go out for a longer walk in the morning before I go to work. Then at lunch I will go down and do some time on elyptical trainer.

While I haven’t seen a huge impact on my weight only a few pounds but I do see a big difference in my stamina. I am really learning to love the cardio workouts.

My next step is to get moving more quickly to really pump up my heartbeat into fatburn mode.
