Gymnasts and its greatest failures

Many are aware that gymnastics is a deadly sport at times but these athletes are highly trained and are really the best of the best.

In the past few years we have seen the most horrid stories of abuse and assaults on all levels of gymnastics.

One that everyone always talked about was the Larry Nassar case which garnered so much attention in the media.

To this day it is still a very sore point as many of these young women haven’t come forward and who can blame them.

Many don’t understand the nature of this abuse and that these women are scared as they will be in the spotlight as a victim.

Nassar is now trying to appeal the decision of the courts and many places when posting the news of this latest item flashes his face.

This is not the way that we should be doing things as you are showing his face to those who were victims and it can easily trigger those who were his victims.

There are ways in which you can give the story without having to splash the criminals face across social media. We need to think of the survivors of his abuse. He was convicted of crimes against these women and the system of gymnastics that is corrupt to have allowed him to get away with it.

USA gymnastics needs to be rebuilt in a way that there is ways to prevent the unethical from holding positions. We have seen abuses are common and I am not even in the USA but I have seen all these cases.

It is time to tear down that which allowed the corrupt to run it and build a new foundation that is stronger and will nurture and protect the children instead of using them. Stop with winning is everything attitude as that is also what has caused so many abuses to go on. When something is reported don’t take years to actually do something about it but start working immediately so that those people are protected.
