Death on the Coast by M.a. Comley

Cozy Mysteries are very interesting and a genre that is very difficult. There are no gratuitous details and it seems to be more about the solving of the crime instead of the crime itself.

The genre is new for me as I am more a fan of the darkness. I find these books intriguing as well since it reminds me more of the old style of mystery.

This was beautifully written and had some wonderful imagery. I felt that the crime was more of an add on which is different as it seemed that the focal point to me was Lucy and her relationship with Mark.

I wasn’t enamored with Lucy to be honest. I thought she wasn’t very easy to deal with. While nothing excuses poor behaviour used against her I still just didn’t really like her.

Because of this reaction it made the book seem more real as in real life you don’t like everyone. In this case while I felt that the characters issues were stronger than the crime aspect I did enjoy this quite a bit and think that it makes for a welcome change with the style of books I am used to
