The start of this book is slow burn. It gives a lot of wonderful little gems as it shows you about the characters. While I generally like a faster burn however this just had something to it that made it very interesting.
I enjoy but it didn’t feel like the standard from the genre but instead it felt more like contemporary writing. This was within the first half. I think it showcases the wonderful writing talents of his author.
Once the story starts to unfold you really start feeling overly emotional as you can see that something bad had happened. You also can see some aspects of psychology rearing its head especially where the main character is involved. She seems surpressed and really trying to hide what happened.
I will admit that Grace put me off quite a bit. I felt that she wasn’t a person I would want to deal with.
Benny was am interesting character though he wasn’t a person I would want to really have as a friend as he seems like the needy person.
Now for how this book made me feel. I felt relied when it as over in all honesty. Not that it wasn’t a good book I loved it so much. I was upset with the main characters thinking about how selfish they were. It isn’t a bad feeling especially as any book that makes you feel strongly is powerful.
I hated the main characters and while usually I have to like characters in this case the story outweighed the horrific characters.
The author really captured the badness in the individuals as well as pushing through the story. I loved seeing the story unfold as you didn’t really know what to expect. I think seeing the story unfold was what made this book so amazing.
