This is the seventh in the Hero Nelson series and happens to be my favourite series ever.
To start Hero seems a little more harsh in some of his responses but it is showing a progression over the series. He seems to have less patience with his partner in this book then again I am not of her. I like seeing her out in place by Hero as she just rubs me the wrong way.
Julie seems to be very touchy and it seems that whatever Hero says just pushed her buttons. I am not fond of Julie in fact she rubs me the wrong way most of the time. I so believe that she is competent and a good at what she does but something turns me off of her.
The story in and of itself is a little gruesome however I do love that as well. Always there is a lot going on in this series and I love it.
There was some things that had me in tears due to triggering. The whole topic of bullying is one that hits very close to home. I was bullied a lot and this really hit home and had me quivering.
The story was full of suspense and with the family issues of Hero it makes it feel even more so as your mind is going between two plot points that really push your abilities to see both and keep the focus.
I love the style as it really shows a great ability by the author to make you really feel for the characters and what is happening to them.
