I have always been a bit of a nerd when it comes to Star Wars. I watched the original movies multiple times probably more than 50 before I found and fell in love with the Legends books
The Clone Wars was always interesting to me as you never knew what it was about for a lot of years until they brought out the movie. This brings more into it and makes the books even more powerful as you see what happened.
They also brought in some of my favourite characters ever especially when you get to see more of Maul who still is one of my favourite villains ever from Star Wars.
Ahsoka is another of my favourites though never having seen her until the book came out. Once I started watching the series I just fell in love with her spirit and her abilities. I read the book again and this just made it so much better as well.
Anakin Skywalker is another fun character and you see more of what he is made of and how loyal he can be. I think that his close friendship with Ahsoka shows so much good about him. It also shows how reckless he is and it shows as well in Ahsoka.
I love meeting some of the Jedi Council as well as other Jedi Knights and Padawans. What I like is because most of what you saw in the movies was nothing but the few who were known as being a large part of the story. This one we are seeing more of the Jedi and you get to see what they are like.
I also like seeing Palpatine a lot as it shows so much of what he was like and how good he was at manipulating everyone. It was very cool to see this and to get more information about just what he was like.
I really liked Ventress as she was a ruthless and cunning adversary for the Jedi. The fact that she also was loyal to her master who wasn’t loyal to her. It was fun as it brought in the Dathomir people which was one of my favourite story arcs in legends. The Knight Sisters were much more powerful then what we would have ever thought as well their force powers seems in a magnitude far more superior and in depth then the Jedi or the Sith.
I think the best part was seeing the different races and seeing part of their culture. I loved the Togruta with the markings and seeing them as Jedi was entertaining.
They talk a lot about the rule to two and it shows as Sidious seems to push that for his people but also doesn’t mind having other dark Jedi running around either. They show also Dooku having an apprentice but to me that was a bit off as even though they were force trained they didn’t have the master and apprentice feel but instead seems like they were assassins or protectors who just had minimal control over the force.
The stories themselves were quite intricate with the plot carrying over with no inconsistencies. Getting to see this is one of the reasons why I am trying out the Canon books again and now I am finding they are better written and more entertaining then when I first tried to read them. I think that this has brought out my love of star wars more as it is what I always need action as well as great stories.
