After an uncharacteristic mistake on vault Simone Biles the current world champion has pulled out of the team finals.
The others 3 members will continue on without Simone in the lineup. This of course has lead to the blame game already saying that this means they won’t get gold.
While yes they didn’t get the Gold Medal which many assumed was going to happen no matter what.
The ROC team simply was the better team today and earned a great victory and the Olympic Gold Medal.
So far I have heard all sorts of nonsense coming from the mouths of the fans of the USA. Simone pulled out because she didn’t want to lose to ROC when she competed all around. Also heard she faked injury so she wouldn’t have to compete.
To state this is to diminish what gymnastics has become. Gymnasts are competitors and deserve respect. Simone didn’t have her best competition and it shows in the score.
Let’s also not forget that there is no I in team. Simone may have been the go to gymnast but all of them have to compete well. Jordan had a fall on floor which also didn’t help. It’s not one person’s daily and blaming them is not fair. Let’s just say that they were outperformed at the Olympics pure and simple.
