Dave Kane is one of the best written characters by DK Hood. He has been in 13 books to date and while not the top dog he certainly shows his abilities.
I really love this character as he has such an amazing sense of self and is a true protector. As a protector he may be overly annoying at times as we all know to protect someone you may have to step on their toes.
A military man who can do whatever is necessary and doesn’t take crap from anyone. His strength of mind is unparalleled and he knows that not everything is as it should be and he may be asked to do the unthinkable at any time.
His relationship with Wolfe is a great partnership and you see the trust that both have for each other. It is hard to think of anyone else being able to handle Dave in anyway.
The relationship with his wife you see is also amazing and he shows that they are both friends and in love. He respects her so much and even though you don’t meet her until his backstory book you see he will never be over her.
His budding friendship or relationship with Jenna Alton is also very interesting. He pushes things far enough where you can potentially see them being together forever and that she might be that one person who can help heal his broken heart.
Kane while he is a cold blooded killer when needed I always love the fact that he shows tenderness as well. He is great with his colleagues and he is great with animals. I think it shows how well balanced he is that he can go from cold blooded to being the most gentle person in the world. It shows that your training really does add a lot to your personality but it will never change your true self.
