Have you ever felt that you wanted to see the origins of a character? To see the psychology behind why the person behaves as they do?
This is the perfect chance for you to do it with a wonderful prequel on the best selling Alton and Kane series. The past of Jenna Alton is here and boy is it amazing.
This book was truly breathtaking with a lot of nuances of Jenna and her past. It went along way to make Jenna feel more human to me. I have at times found her to be over rigid and very direct. Not that it’s a bad thing but now you see the softer side of Jenna who is caring.
I was impressed with the writing in this book as it shows a huge shift for what I was expecting. Knowing Jenna was DEA I always kind of figured her as very harsh and no nonsense. She always seemed to have very harsh moments but this showed me the caring loving lady who has attracted one of my favourite characters Dave Kane.
It was great to see a backstory I was expecting more with her DEA life but I really enjoyed seeing her time when she first came to Black Rock Falls.
The kid angle that was in the start of the book had me cringing at times but I got a big amount of pleasure seeing those evil cartel people get what was coming to them.
Jenna with this book has pushed up her ranking in my favourite characters. She has such talent and such drive and this book showed her grace as well as a human being. I honestly want so many more of these stories but would love to really see her more in the DEA Role.
What a spectacular addition to this wonderful story as well as a wonderful way to really introduce yourself to what this lady was like and who she was before a Sherriff.
