The Traitors Son: Path of the Ranger Book 1

What you do or feel if a man who you knew was accused of heinous crimes and was killed. This is a story about Lasgar who knows his father was decent and honourable ranger but he was accused and convicted of treason by the very king he was close friends with.

Lasgar lives in a village and because of what his father had done or assumed he had done is treated with much disrespect and abuse from everyone including the man who he lives with Ulf.

Ulf seems so vile and treats his servant Lasgar like he is a slave and punishes him for everything including threatening to have him sleep out on the street without a coat.

To me this is why Lasgar goes to become one of the Kingdoms most special fighters a Ranger. He is following in the footsteps of his father who is the most hated ranger because of his crime.

This book is very good and has quite a lot of great growth potentials in it. Becoming a Ranger is not for the faint of heart and will be doubly hard for Lasgar.

This reminds me of a proverb that the Klingons in Star Trek use which is the Sins of the Father are passed down to the family members.

Daven the Ranger I instinctively liked and he was honest telling Lasgar not what he wanted to hear but what he needed to know. He showed a lot of courage and honour in those first scenes when you meet him that you can feel just what a person he is.

I really enjoyed this book seeing a great story unfolds especially as it shows a young person regaining or trying to regain what he had taken from him. It was amazing to see and by the end I felt amazing at seeing just to what depths the snow Panthers went through for their team and to keep themselves from being expelled.
