So while this isn’t about books or writing it does link in some ways to my very personal tastes on writing.
This was a short series of six episodes which deals with a time before A New Hope back before Luke became a hero of the Rebellion.
There were some great points for this show. The showing of PTSD in Kenobi was something that I didn’t expect them to do. It was handled well and shows or you can infer what has transpired with his skills or lack of skills.

Young Leia was definitely a high point for me. The actress they got to play her had everything down perfectly to the imperious attitude up to and including her comments that showed so much sass.

Reva or the third sister I did enjoy however she featured more prominently than she probably should have. She took a lot of screen time and it seemed the story was more about her than Kenobi.
The Grand inquisitor was a huge letdown. He was just there to be there for me. He added no real value to the show at all nor did the Fifth Brother. These two characters could have been left off and the show wouldn’t have been impacted at all.
Overall the show was good and had solid stories however calling it Kenobi is kind of a misnomer as he was one of a few main characters. The show was more about Reva and her journey. I really enjoyed that but it just felt a bit hollow when the main focus should have been Kenobi himself.
The fight scenes between Kenobi and Vader just seemed so strange as Vader should have had more advantage as he was strong in the force and had constantly been using it where Kenobi was rusty with the force due to not using his abilities. It just seemed a bit to easy for Kenobi.
The fight scene itself was amazing and the sword play was done well. Just the strange way that they made Kenobi seemed to gain everthing back so quickly when in the early episodes you see him struggling using the force.
I loved that they continued using the amazing voice of James Earl Jones for the mechanically deep voice of Vader. It shows that they want in this case to honour the past of Star Wars instead of remaking it.

Vader wasn’t really the big bad evil that I had expected he was there to enhance the story but the real big bad was Reva for the show. She is the one who did all the darkest evil and she was the one who pushed things so greatly that Kenobi was forced to action.
Some of the flashbacks were corny but I did enjoy the Reva ones more so as they show why she is as she is more than her actions do.
Also the Owen and Beru parts gave you so much more meaning to the original trilogy. I never cared for Owen now I see his strength and his love shining through. Beru always seemed so kind but now you see her fire as well and see how devoted she is to protecting her son.
