Rogue Squadron

A brand new cast of characters to the best piloting group in the Galaxy.

This books starts one of the best star wars legends series and does it with an almost completely new cast of characters.

The story is about the reforming of the famed squadron with Wedge Antilles as the commander for the squadron.

The characters while some aren’t that memorable as they never focused heavily on those characters those that they did focus on were amazing.

Wedge is a legend and while you don’t know much about him from the movies this brings out a lot of information about him and his life that was previously undiscovered territory. He happened to be one of my favourite characters overall and has been in a lot of books and not just this series.

Tycho Celchu the executive officer who you learn can not be trusted by the new republic. His way of handling all of his issues is with grace and poise.

Bror Jace is one character I love to hate as he is very cocky and seems to push people away. He is a spoiled brat from a hugely rich family that deals in bacta.

Erisi Dlarit is a beautiful lady but she is also a pilot and she much like Bror is a spoiled rich kid who does whatever she wants. She doesn’t rub people the wrong way like Bror does but some of her attitudes just make you want to lock her i to her room.

Corran Horn is again one of my favourites as while he does have the cockiness he doesn’t abuse people and shows that he trusts and respects his squadron members and will do whatever it takes to save them. He as well is on multiple books and when you get to know the character he stands out so much

Nawara Ben is a twilek. Generally before I read this series twileks were criminals or worked as dancers for the criminals like in Jaba Palace. This shows a different side to them and you find out more as the story goes on. Remember this was before the clone wars cartoon came out or rebels so you didn’t know the culture at all and this pushed that culture and showed what it was all about.

The book is the first one a series that really mad me love star wars even more. The fighter squadron also made me love roleplaying fighter pilots as well since they can be so diverse.
