One thing that I always got asked is what is my favourite novel and would you recommend it. That is difficult as I have so many novels that I have read and enjoyed and so many that I would recommend.
For me it’s all split by category or genre. For instance I have fantasy but it’s split into urban and traditional. I also have non fiction but it’s split into biographies/memoirs and then other.
With that I am going to start with my favourites and these aren’t in any particular order.
Biographies is Love Pamela by Pamela Anderson. This is a new one and it was a wonderful read not really going through her acting career but her life. I listened to this on audible and she read it herself which is great. A close second is memoir called Unbroken by Madeleine Black which was an eye opener of a book.
In the other non fiction side my favourite is Shake Hands with the Devil which is by Romeo Dallaire a Canadian General who was part of the UN Mission in Rwanda. It is a great read and shows how this tragedy happened and how their hands were tied.
For crime books which includes mystery and thriller it’s Torn Apart by MA Comley. This is the first in a series about Hero Nelson who happens to be one of my favourite characters ever.
For urban fantasy I will say Jim Butcher and his Dresden files really is second to none. The first book Storm Front. It has some amazing characters and brought me my love back of urban fantasy. A close second is Jinx High by Mercedes Lackey which is a witch style story but follows Diana Tregarde.
For regular fantasy that was harder but I will go with Arrows of the Queen by Mercedes Lackey. It is the start of the arrows trilogy which deals with Talia and her becoming one of the most important people in the Kingdom of Valdemar. Talia is my favourite fantasy character followed closely by Raistlin from Dragonlance.
For romance this is not my thing but I do like a good romantic comedy and for me that has to go to Carole Wyer and her Suddenly Single.
