What jobs have you had?

I have had many jobs some of which were very temporary and others lasted for years.

Let’s start with factory work. This was done more to earn money in summers when I was going to be starting college. This was never what I wanted to do for a living but was a way to earn some of the money I would need to pay for my college diploma.

After finishing college I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do as the program I took didn’t really prepare you fully for what you could possibly do. I worked for Loblaws a grocery chain saw as a front end worker also known as a cashier.

That lasted for just under 2 years. And I stayed at it even after I started to work full time in the financial services industry. After 3 months with AGF I couldn’t handle both jobs so I ended up leaving Loblaws.

That started 3 years with AGF as a processor and then later on as a call center representative. At that time they decided to move us to Mississauga and they changed our company name to Unisen. That lasted until mid 2005 when they sold our company. During that time I did call center as well as I started to learn other systems as well as was moved to Registered Products.

In 2005 we were sold to Citi which I stayed at until end of 2013 when I left the company. During my 13 years with that company I was moved around quite a bit from Registered Products and RESP accounts. Eventually I moved to being a support staff working on training and documentation as well as being a liaison between our client companies and our staff.

That lasted a total of almost 13 years and I did much during that time eventually running projects, testing and ensuring our year end ran smoothly.

In 2013 I felt I needed a change and moved to CIBC Mellon where I had to learn new systems and new procedures. I was with the Quality Control Team. In 2018 I moved to the newly created Estates and Registered products team. In 2019 I was promoted to Team leader of that team and I kept that role until March of 2023 when I moved to the Pension Benefits Department as a team leader for the newly created deceased team.
