The title of this book is what drew me in. I mean blood is the food of vampires and that is definitely not a vegan style of food. I think the title just makes me laugh but this is a paranormal cozy mystery which is a first for me.
The issue I have is not really getting to figure out the main character in the first chapter. I do t even remember them using the main characters name.
Finally found out her name was Mallory and I feel so bad for her as noone seemed to care enough about her to ensure she was okay when she was AWOL for days on end. I think she is great character so far and that she needs to have more support from her co-workers.
What would you do if you were told you were a vampire? Of course most people would think the person who told them this was in need of a long stay in a psychiatric ward. Much like Mallory I wouldn’t believe it in the least and would be running from the Dr that told me.
The change in Mallory is so quick. Losing weight very fast as well as having the pinched face made it sound like a horrific part to the life. Also as a vampire and she is disgusted when she sees her own blood made me giggle.
Alex is an interesting character but not one who has a lot of social graces. He is impatient and rude at times but he does keep things interesting.
Wembley and what a name he has. Definitely doesn’t seem normal and he isn’t a normal person either. I love the paranoid aspect to the character
Cornelius I am not fond of and I think that’s the way it’s supposed to be. He seems to grate on my nerves similarly to Alex at times.
Searching for the man who infected her with vampirism is what the story is about and it’s very easy reading. I do see that this is a series and that makes this even more sweeter.
