How do you practice self-care?

Self care is one of the hardest things for most people. Generally we are so focused on work that we don’t get the balance we require.

I do a few things. Meditation is one of them and it helps me relax and to get rid of more negative emotions. This is the first step for me in self care and is done daily even if only for five minutes.

Taking time out of your busy schedule to employ your hobbies. I spent time each day either playing video games or reading, most likely both. It keeps me happy and makes it feel like I have a better work/life balance.

Another is taking the time to workout or do something physical. At lunch time every weekday if it’s not really bad weather I go for a walk. This allows me to get some exercise which makes me feel better especially as I can’t do a full on workout due to knee issues.
