I have been a large fan of mixed martial arts for a long time. I started with UFC but moved to Pride FC.
I have a number of athletes that I put at the top. Top 5 men superstars for MMA are
5. Kazushi Sakuraba. A great Japanese fighter known as a pro wrestler but was one of the best to ever get in the ring in pride FC. He had some epic fights including against so many of the Gracie family. While not my favourite for his personality he is definitely one that I find very good in the fighting game.
4. Carlos Newton. For me he was such a strong competitor but he also showed so much honour in the octagon or ring showing respect even when he won.
3. Matt Hughes. Though he is such a cocky man it can’t be discounted that he is one of the best fighters and making him one of my favourites.
2. Royce Gracie. One of the few who in the early years could be said to have dominated almost all fighters. With a skill set that you didn’t know how to defend against and not one who was flashy many thought they could beat him. They were mistaken
1. Vanderlei Silva. This is my favourite of all time in the ring or octagon as he was aggressive and always went for the win. There are few who can match up with the chute box academy striking skills but the man also had talent on the ground. He was a great all around fighter who I would have been scared to be in a ring with. His nickname says it all the axe murderer.
