The latest upgrade to Elder Scrolls Online is Necrom which when it launched it also allowed for a new class the Arcanist. Here is my take on that class.
They are a very balanced class as they have a bit of everything in their class skills.
They make for great damage dealers, tanks or healers as one branch or their class skills seems linked to each of these three areas
For solo this means that it can be very good as you can heal just as quickly as if you were to be a damage dealer.
To me this makes them more unique as the other classes even though you can be all doesn’t really show equally with the class skills.
I have now been able to get an arcanist to level 50 which puts me as the top level of normal. I am pleased with it but figured it would be much easier as so many people are doing such great work with the class.
The class skills are evenly distributed between three very different and partially complex lines.
Herald of the Tome is what I would refer to as a damage dealer specialized skill line. It is focused on the offensive abilities. This is the dps skill power. It is a great and powerful skill line and has some of the most spectacular imagery in the game.
Curative Runeforms is the healer skill tree and is quite effective. It allows you to self heal as well as act as a primary healer to a group.
The last is the soldier of Apocrypha. This to me is the most tanky skill line as it features a lot of almost warding yourself or having damage shields.
As we know each class has the ability to be all types of character styles in damage dealers, healers or tanks as most of that is with your skills and not necessarily the powers specific to the class.
In my opinion the class of Arcanist is very well balanced overall and is equally good at all jobs that could be needed.
With this definitely you should try and create an arcanist and see what you feel about them. I did a lot of research about what race and type of build would work the best but even though it could be the meta or the best choice at this time it doesn’t always follow that it will work best for you. The game should be fun
