Ahsoka episode 1

Ahsoka is one of my most favourite characters that has been created in Star Wars who was not the main character of the Original Trilogy.

I found where they said Former Jedi Knight but she was never a Jedi Knight she was a Padawan but was kicked out of the order before gaining knighthood. It shows the lack of consistency of what has already been established and I hope that is the only part.

The opening scene had me gripped as it was action packed with lightsabers swinging. Baylen was powerful and he shows that he isn’t like a lot of those who have fallen to the Darkside. He doesn’t try and kill if there is another option. The actor was well chosen and almost reminded me of the actor who portrayed Count Dooku.

Ahsoka since she is my favourite character and I will always think of Ashley Eckstein as the real Ahsoka it was hard at first to get into Rosario Dawson playing the character. She plays a mature Ahsoka which is great as it makes it harder to compare

Seeing lothal in live action makes me long for more of rebels. I love the fact that Lothal and it’s people still honour the Rebels from the Ghost Crew.

Swing Ahzadi back is amazing and it seems he hasn’t aged a day. The fact that he is back to what he was and still is protecting his home and his people is amazing.

Sabine Wren still has no use for authority and it still makes me laugh. She is honourable and trustworthy and when she puts her trust in someone she will be your ally for life.

It was great seeing the tower that Ezra called home and to also see that my hopes that they would keep the sibling style relationship intact was great. People seem to want Sabine and Ezra together whether it is good for the story.

You can see the pain in Ahsoka but it is because of her belief that she walked away from the Jedi and it seems that she didn’t really feel that they betrayed her. I think it shows that she was always going to be a person on the outside looking in. Her master would always come before the Jedi for her.

The end of the first episode wasn’t bad and it showed the great prowess or sword fighters. I think that the final battle there wasn’t the best as it made Sabine who was one of the best fighters for bested by an apprentice. Sabine showed more skill which makes the end harder since there is no way that the lady should have been able to beat her when you saw her do so little.

The story was a bit bland at points and I know that it’s a build up which I do appreciate. I just felt that it lacked a little something same as Ahsoka also didn’t seem to have the warmth that we saw from her in Rebels and The Clone Wars. I know that time can be harsh but it just felt a bit strained.
