As a a big fan of this author I was shocked to see a book that I hadn’t heard about previously. I am impressed by the writing of this author as she constantly pushes out amazing stories.
This story is good and starts with a hit and run. It doesn’t really deal with the investigation but more about the person responsible, what their life is like and whet lengths he does to hide what he did.
The aftereffects of what happened with the hit and run starts pushing the family of Mandy apart. Her husband is becoming more of a jerk about things and just becomes more mean to his wife. He is beginning to make me angry as he treats her with such disrespect.
I like Mandy as she seems to be his conscience and that just pushes him even further. Joel doesn’t seem to have much about him that is likeable and he isn’t being the best to the people around him.
Their vacation is anything but relaxing and you see the strain both of them are under. It’s crazy what a secret can do to your family and your own life.
The fact that crimes are occurring around Joel is shaking him very badly. Learning why this is happening makes it a better read. They make it all intertwined and karmic. This is a great read.
I really enjoyed this book especially the ending. It was a great book and like all great books I was sad to see it end.
