This is a romantic fantasy but is darker and deals with vampires which always attracts my attention.
There are multiple magical races or classes is the closest I can think of.
First is the Vampires or Nightwalkers. Mira is the main character from this and in fact the main character of the book. You meet many others throughout the serie.
The werewolves are also a big part of the series which is not my favourite magical race but they serve a purpose in this book.
The magicians are humans for the most part.
Then you have the Naturi which seem to be more on the lines of the Sidhe or fairies. They aren’t like what most people believe as they aren’t the cute fairies like Tinkerbell. They are magical and are more into using elemental magic.
Mira is a vampire but she is unique as fire doesn’t hard her and she can call fire and control it. That is something never seen before in a vampire as fire is one of the main weapons to use against the vampires as it’s a weakness for them.
This book has a bit of everything including romance which isn’t usually my thing. It is justa small amount in this book and it’s well worth it.
The book also has enough action to satisfy even the most picky of people. I enjoy the action scenes as they aren’t all magic.
There is magic not as much but they have so many different magical races that it helps make it feel more like urban fantasy.
Great book and I think that it shows a lot of versatility to have as many magic beings and races and multiple storylines that has so much of combat and betrayal.
