March Round-up

Well March was a slower month for me as my reading was much more intermittent.  I read 22 books in total.

I read one classic called The Red Badge of Courage.  It was a bit bland for me and really it shows how my tastes cycle a lot as had this been a couple of years ago it would have been a favoured read for the month.

Mostly I started re-reads of series I enjoyed.  Don’t get me wrong there were plenty of other books I just felt like an easier month.

I have now completed my classics challenge.  I have finished 5 of them which was the goal. This likely will increase as I plan to read the remainder of the Dune series by Frank Herbert which would add another 4 classics.  I can say for the most part I am not a huge fan of classic literature, however I do enjoy classics of science fiction and fantasy.

My native books I haven’t gotten far yet with but I have a number of them that I am to soon start.

Plays are another issue as I just can’t get into them so 5 may be hard unless I read some Shakespeare and I am not a fan of.

I am enjoying discovering new books and newel authors to me and that’s one of those things that I never get bored of.

In April I plan to start reading Discworld by Terry Pratchett.  He is the master of comedic fantasy and a classic of that genre.  Can’t wait to see if the first book is as good as I remember it being.
