My Thoughts
The third book in this series was great to see as I think this has some amazingly unique ideas that push things further than I would have thought.
Generally I find a series goes down from where it started and I find myself disappointed. This book was not in the least like this at all. In fact I found that the third book was the second strongest book in this series. Only the first book was better.
War of course is happening in the world, while that is a focus for a while I found the character building is what took over most of the book which I enjoy a lot.
For me it’s not always about the story of just the one book but or the entire series. It is harsh at times when you are looking from that standpoint but this book really excelled at keeping me entertained.
I feel when reading this book a sense of calm. It wasn’t as high action as some of the books I read but what was good about it, is that it had so much character building from book one chapter one to book 3s end.
I was pleasantly surprised as I found myself really warming up to the characters especially lochlan. I think he fit in so well with everything.
He is my favourite character and I always want more of my favourites. Cassia was also very fun just not as strongly as Lochlan.
What I like is the humanity that is put into this book making it feel more like an urban style book and not really the same fantasy that generally I see.
