Last of the Jedi Star Wars young adult novels

This series is designed for readers who are younger or maybe don’t have a great grasp of reading.  There are multiple short novels dealing with a former Padawan by the name of Ferus Olin.

Ferus was a one time Padawan who left the Jedi temple and his only home because of issues with another Padawan.  It shows a different style of Padawan as well as a man than what we had seen with Jedi before.

Ferus is one of my favourite characters as he is a flawed person who has extraordinary abilities.  He shows a lot of growth and that his Jedi teachings were not right for him.

He has close attachments and is even a rebel.  It shows a great deal about his character that he feels strongly about protecting others and making things better.

His journey is over 10 books and some can be sad but each one shows you a great story.  To me this could easily be adapted into more adult content especially as with so many great side characters.

Roan Lands was a great character and really helped to link Ferus to what mattered the most.  He had such a great ability to help his friend despite only meeting him when they were both adults.  It shows to me a lacking in Jedi philosophy that attachments are a thing to be avoided.

One of the better series for the star wars franchise that doesn’t really deal with the main characters from the original series
