List three books that have had an impact on you. Why?

Being an avid reader this is hard to answer as so many books have impacted me.

Shake Hands with the Devil by Lt General Romeo Dallaire. This is about the genocide in Rwanda from the standpoint of a Canadian who was in charge of the peacekeeping. It was such a harrowing book and you felt so much for what the people went through. It made such a lasting impression on me.

The Diary of Anne Frank. This I read as a younger person and it was about a young girl who was hiding from the Nazis who were out to eradicate any who were Jewish. It has a special place in my heart as it was one of the first school books I actually enjoyed reading because of its history.

The final book is It’s Not About Perfect by Shannon Miller. Being a gymnast and having watched Shannon Miller when she was younger it made an impact reading her insights and about her life. She was for a lot of years and was the most decorated US gymnast. It was a lot of years later before Simone Biles could break her record.
